One year ago, on 30 October 2025, COST Action PSY-NET (CA24130) officially began its journey with an ambitious goal: to unite Europe’s experts in psychedelic science and help transform mental health care through collaboration. 🎉
Today, our network spans more than 40 countries and 6 working groups, covering the full spectrum of psychedelic research, from molecular chemistry and preclinical research to clinical trials, neuroimaging, data sharing and policy making.
Highlights from our first year include:
🔹 Our Chemistry & Biophysics working group (WG1) met jointly with the Psychedelic Molecules meeting and launched 9 new collaborative initiatives
🔹 Our Preclinical Research working group (WG2) held its first face-to-face meeting in Barcelona, as an official FENS Forum 2026 Satellite Event
🔹 Our Clinical working group (WG3) hosted the symposium “Keeping the Psychedelic Promise: From Bench to Bedside” at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon, attended by 85 participants on-site and 49 online
🔹 Our Policy-Making working group (WG6) met at the Czech National Institute of Mental Health to discuss the cost-effectiveness of psychedelic-assisted therapy and the path towards reimbursement
🔹 A Special Issue on methodological challenges in psychedelic research was launched in the Journal of Neuroscience Methods
🔹 Short-Term Scientific Missions and conference grants supported researchers across the network
